Vision
Our vision is a society where all members have an equal chance of personal and professional fulfillment.

Mission
The mission of Building Blocs is to teach inner city children the practical skill sets to thrive both personally and professionally.

History
The history of Building Blocs starts with my own childhood. I approached my high school graduation date without much career guidance. After all, my mother had not graduated college and my school counselors were ineffective. As I contemplated the only two choices I thought I had; going to the Armed Forces or just getting a job, I just so happened to have completed the one college application that was sent to me by mistake and thankfully, I was accepted.

I entered the workforce, and as a quick learner, excelled at whatever project/position I took on. Although I graduated with an Accounting degree, I embarked on a career in the field of Finance. Finally, I earned an MBA in Investment Management from Pace University.

After feeling there was nothing else for me to learn working for someone else, I eventually walked away from a lucrative Wall Street career path and started my own company from scratch.

By many accounts I guess I am a story of success. But, I often think of the children who share childhoods similar to mine that might not get the breaks I did, or might not be as fortunate as I have been. I worked very hard to overcome the obstacles that come with not having access to the practices that are good predictors of success in this society.

Building Blocs was formed to ensure more urban children learn the practices and develop the tools to create their own personal success.
