I entered the workforce, and as a quick learner, excelled at whatever project/position I took on. Although I graduated with an Accounting degree, I embarked on a career in the field of Finance. Finally, I earned an MBA in Investment Management from Pace University.
After feeling there was nothing else for me to learn working for someone else, I eventually walked away from a lucrative Wall Street career path and started my own company from scratch.
By many accounts I guess I am a story of success. But, I often think of the children who share childhoods similar to mine that might not get the breaks I did, or might not be as fortunate as I have been. I worked very hard to overcome the obstacles that come with not having access to the practices that are good predictors of success in this society.
Building Blocs was formed to ensure more urban children learn the practices and develop the tools to create their own personal success.
